World War II US Navy Fighter Jacket With Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268 (HMM-268) was reactivated on 1 March 1979 at MAG-16, MCAS (H) Tustin, Calif. The Red Dragons were designated for medium-lift, flying the Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters.On 24 February 1980, HMM-268 deployed for the first time under the Unit Deployment Program. While assigned to MAG-36, MCAS (H) Futenma, Okinawa, the RED DRAGONS conducted operations on the Japanese mainland and Korea. This is a German WW II hard holster in very, very good condition. See the 2nd photo with a close up of it's back.It's stamped on the back with 837 on the left side, 1942 with the letter P in the center and TO on the right. .I bought it 40 years ago, in 1983, with a Walther P38 1943 pistol. I no longer have the pistol, so I don't have a use for the holster. It also has the pull strap for lifting the pistol. This holster has an attached cartridge pocket, with the magazine still in there, aprox $50 value. The take down tool is stamped WaA140 and appears to be an original. See the close up photos. .
