WW II German LW Aircraft Armbanduhr - PILOT WRIST WATCH - ZENITH - PUBLISHED!
CollectionHero
You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Pilot Chronograph Wrist Watch! This EXACT watch is featured in Dr. Konrad Knirim's, "Military Timepieces" book. At the outbreak of WW2, navigator and pilot watches were put into full production. The German government contracted many manufacturers to build pilot chronographs, with the two most popular being Uhrenfabrik AG Tutima of Glashutte, and Hanhart of Schwenningen. Both similar in appearance, several variants were produced. Some variations include a Gold Gilded Movement, and Rotating Bezels with either a red line or arrow. With the chronograph function, the pilot was able to calculate precise time in 30 minute intervals. They were issued according to a pilot's mission requirements, and when no longer needed (for example if a pilot was injured), they were returned to stores. The requirements for this watch were black dials for clear visibility, luminous hands, and Arabic numerals. Backs were to be screwed, in order to prevent dirt and moisture from entered the case. This EARLY Luftwaffe Zenith Pilot Wrist Watch is in AMAZING functioning condition, and featured on page 373 of Dr. Konrad Knirim's, "Military Timepieces book. Produced in 1934, this type of watch was the first type used by the Luftwaffe. Features a large crown with rotating bezel, and comes with a modern reproduction strap, that matches the original. The casing features approx. 95% original finish, and though there are some very slight scratches and some very minor wear throughout, it is otherwise near PERFECT! The dial is FANTASTIC, with only some slight paint loss (a slight repair around the "10"). Markings and hands glow when UV light is applied. Some scratches on the back, as well as a spurious German Adler and Serial Number (probably added post-war). This is 100% FUNCTIONAL in every way, and has had a recent service. An AMAZING and 100% ORIGINAL example, PERFECT for any collection or display! Please email me if you need additional photos or information. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

WW2 US Army Air Force A-2 Pilot Jacket Painted Patches & Officer Crusher Cap Hat
CollectionHero
Payment | Shipping WW2 US Army Air Force Pilot Jacket w/Painted Patches & Officer Crusher Cap Hat I am privileged to offer a WWII A-2 US Army Air Force pilot jacket and included the Officer's crusher cap. All patches but his name patch are hand painted including the rare 498th Bombardment Squadron "Falcons" insignia. The left side has the hand painted "Air Apaches" insignia and the right arm has the Army Air Force insignia. The label reads: Type A-2 Drawing No. 30-141 AC No.535..2919 Property Air Force-U.S. Army Bronc Mfg. Corp. New York, N.Y. The size is 44. Armpit to armpit is 21"; shoulder to cuff is 25" and top of collar to waistband is 27". The zipper is a "Crown" which operates, as do all the snaps and hook at neck. The leather sewn name tag reads: R. L. Ranger. Lt. Richard L Ranger served his country in World War II. Born in Swampscott, MA. in 1927. He entered the service in 1943, attended pre-flight school in Santa Ana, Ca., Class 44-E; primary at Dos Palos, Ca.; basic at Lemoore, Ca.; advances at LaJunta, Co. and combat a Greenville, So. Carolina. Ranger served with the 345th Bombardment Group "Air Apaches" and the 498th Bomb Squadron and 5th Bomb Squadron January 1945-August 1945. He was a B-25 "Staafers Pilot". On one of his missions, his plane was struck by enemy fire on a low-level mission over Formosa and with only one engine he flew back to the Philippines with an overheated engine and crashed on the runway with "wheel up" and no injuries. He was discharged in January, 1946, and was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with two OLC's. The "C" is a miniature bronze "C" that can be attached to the Air Medal. It is authorized for the following reasons: Being exposed to hostile action or under significant risk of it and performing exceptionally meritorious service or achievement under combat conditions. There is much published information and history about the 345th Bomb Group 5th "Air Apaches"/498th Bomb Squadrons. Please explore the internet for their brave and harrowing missions. The jacket is as it was found. I have not applied any kind of leather conditioner or cleaner, leaving that to the decision of the new owner. Please use the photos as more detailed description. The leather is not torn or ripped. The cuffs are worn but the waist band is very acceptable. The lining shows some staining and is loose at the top by the collar. The bonus part of this auction is the original hat of Lt. Richard L Ranger. The hat badge is a screw back Lieutenant badge. The hat is a bit miss-shapened by poor storage. The bill has a bend; a large part of the leather hat band is missing as well as one of the buttons. There are a few small moth holes in the body of the hat. Inside there is a dried substance that appears to be melted nylon. No odors but definitely is a issue with the interior of the original cap, does not show on the exterior. The blade represents the opportunity to own a historic Koto katana, ca. 1500’s, by the well-known swordsmith Nagamitsu from the Sue-Bizen school and mounted in naval Kai Gunto mounts. The blade and the fittings are in Excellent condition. The sword has a blade length of 25.25 inches (64 cm). The blade shows a deeper curvature and a smaller ko-kissaki tip. It was made as a katate-uchi for one-handed usage. There is a double groove of narrower soe-hi on both sides. The sword features a wood-grained itame hada. The hamon is a well implemented Bizen-style gunome midare. The hamon is present the length of the blade ending in a midare boshi. There are activities like sunagashi and yubashiri in and along the hamon. The tang is signed Nagamitsu and is ubu, or unshortened. Not to be confused with Bizen Nagamitsu from the Kamakura period, this Nagamitsu signed differently and was from a line of swordsmiths signing this way who were part of the Sue-Bizen school. They were active in the early to mid 1500’s. The Sue-Bizen school was famous for supplying many swords during the Sengoku period of warring states. There were several generations of Sue-Bizen Nagamitsu and a shinsa should be consulted as final authority on the authenticity of the signature and which generation may have made the sword. The mountings are naval version Kai Gunto and are in Excellent condition. The tsuka is silk-cord wrapped with cherry blossom menuki. There is little to no fraying and the tsuka may have been re-wrapped at some point. The tsuba is classic naval rayburst with four accompanying seppa, one of which is leather and has a snap that connects to the saya. The saya (scabbard) is wood painted black with a rare black leather weather cover. The leather cover is supple, well-aged, and in excellent condition for these type of saya. The saya looks to be in excellent condition with very little missing finish. The blade itself is in Excellent condition. There are no nicks along the edge of the blade. There are a few scattered small spots of rust, a few scattered small pits, and some scattered small scratches along the blades length. There are a couple small ware and areas of coarse grain. There are no major flaws like hagire.Given this sword’s history, reputation of the swordsmtih, and excellent craftsmanship, I think this piece would be an outstanding addition for a collector of WW2 militaria or Japanese swords.Terms and additional items: This item is original and not a knockoff or fake. The analysis regarding swordsmith listed above is my own and while I think I am accurate, I can not guarantee that aspect as I am not an expert from NBTHK. WW2 Norden Bombsight Head M9B B-29 B-17 B-24 Army Air Force Bomber Bomb Sight

This is the famous Norden Bombsight used on nearly all US WW2 bombers including the B-17, B-24, B-25, B-26, and B-29. This version in particular, the M9B was specifically used in the B-29 and was modified to meet the demands of high speed and high altitude bombing that the B-29 was designed for. It includes the X-1 Reflex Sight that was essentially a reflector gunsight tied to the bombsight telescope angle and used to spot the target without hunting in the narrow telescope field of view. The sticker on the side indicates this bombsight was overhauled in October of 1959, so this sight might hav

Original WWII WW2 USMC Marine Paramarine Camo Jacket Named & ID’D
CollectionHero
eBay This is a super rare 2nd pattern marine paratrooper (paramarine) camouflage jacket. These jackets were made and issued for marine paratroopers, a highly trained and specialized group of select marines who passed both boot camp and jump school, which had a very low turnout rate. Since the Paramarines only had around 3,500 members at its peak out of the 475,000 marines who served in WW2, their utilities were made in small numbers including jackets like this one, which was issued in mid-1943 and was eventually it was reissued to Lloyd C. Henderson, an armorer with both the 5th Defense battalion and VMF-441. Lloyd enlisted on December 30th, 1941 and was soon deployed and trained as an aircraft mechanic with VMF-441 in 1942 until being attached to the 5th defense battalion in April, 1943 until July, 1943 when he was sent back to VMF-441. He rose through the ranks over his tenure in the Pacific, going from private to sergeant and going from a basic MOS of aircraft mechanic to eventually being an armorer. He was with the unit through their fighting in the Gilbert Islands until being sent back stateside in late-1944 where he stayed at Cherry Point, North Carolina until his discharge in 1947 after a stint in Supply School. Due to his common name it’s hard to say when he was born or when he died but whoever puts in good research will definitely find something. Also if you do get this uniform, try asking for Henderson’s file at Golden Arrow Research, they will get you his photo and full service record for 75 bucks, so definitely keep it in mind as I never got around to doing it. The jacket itself is in near mind condition besides a hole on the right pocket, but other than that is in perfect condition with factory new shade of camouflage pattern Questions are always welcome and offers are open.
