The silver plated nickel fittings have a raised oak leaf motif on the top belt
clip, two buckles and the bottom two dagger hanger clips. The top belt hanger
is maker marked ‘D.R.G.M. U. E. 10 RZM’. The two bottom dagger hanger clips are
maker marked ‘A’ for the manufacturing firm of ‘Assmann’. There are two machine
embroidered cloth woven cotton and flat silver bullion wire straps that have a

This is an original WW2 production SA Dagger, complete with the scabbard (may be a reproduction) and hanger. The blade is maker stamped RZM M7/9 with a 1941 date. The blade has some light spotting, and a few areas of patina, but overall the blade is excellent. The wood handle is excellent with no cracks or chips. The leather hanger has normal aging/use wear, is RZM M5/71 stamped. Overall a very nice collector's SA dagger. eBay Near mint with estimated 99% of the bluing on the blade and scabbard remaining. It probably wasn't issued however there are several very slight dings and dents in the scabbard. You will be hard pressed to improve on this one. I have owned this bayonet for 42 years and have collected militaria for over 60 years and I have never seen a K98 bayonet and scabbard in such immaculate condition. The frog matches in condition. Dark ruby red bakelite grips. Scabbard is waffenamt marked on the backside of the chape. Looks like WaA 25.There is another Waffenamt on the pommel of the bayonet that looks like WaA883.The K98 Bayonet was designed for the German Wehrmacht standard service Karabiner 98 kurz (7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge) bolt-action rifle - 1935. The single edged, single fullered, blued blade is pristine! The fit is perfect. It is maker marked and dated "38" on the spine. Matching numbers on bayonet and scabbard. 994 with a maker mark of Richard A. Herder of Solingen. The Richard Abr. Herder company registered with the Solingen commercial authorities on November 19, 1884. The company began by making: bread, meat and kitchen knives, table knives and forks, pocket knives, razors, scissors, tweezers, hammers and other hand-tools. Drop-forging was their specialty. In 1915-17 Herder forged blade blanks for the S. 98/05 bayonets until 1918 when they began making complete knives. By 1922, Richard Herder was advertising forgings for the automobile industry. Production of bayonets recommenced in 1934 and continued until 1944. Herder received its RZM license in 1935 while located on Rathausstraße 20/22. Third Reich production included many quality: SS and SA daggers, Luftwaffe and Army daggers and swords along with a few dress bayonets. The "ffc" three letter-code was given to Herder for K98 bayonets. The Herder family retained control until 1972 when Gedore Werkzeugfabrik Otto Dowidat KG" purchased the business. The Solingen factory continued to make tools and drop forgings for the Gedore Group. The Gedore Group still owns the "Richard Abr. Herder" trading name. The little asterisk beside the WaA on the pommel is an inspector's rejection stamp. There were several inspections performed on the S84/98 III that were to be issued to troops. Being as this bayonet was made in 1938, inspection standards were still high and for some reason an inspector rejected this bayonet. Usually, a rejected bayonet would be put back and reworked to meet specs. By 1943 the standards were lowered and lowered even more in 1944. Many of the earlier rejected bayonets and new produced bayonets that failed inspection would be used issued anyway. This is a German leather combat belt, no buckle. It is in very good + condition as the pictures show. It is stamped with the elite signage and numbered â??48/36â? with RZM in a circle on the steel keeper end and marked CROUPON on the eyelet end.
